An Important mother of pearl, gold, enamel diamond and pearl ostrich feather fan, attributed to Giuliano, consisting of twenty sticks made of mother of pearl, held together with a U-shaped gold handle embellished black and white enamel and rose-cut diamond finials, the outer stick bearing gold floral, scroll and ribbon decorations with black and white enamel flanked with fourteen natural pearls and five old-cut diamonds, all sticks supporting a white ostrich feather, length including the feather 45 cm, span 91cm, the jewelled decorations, circa 1890, gross weight 221 grams. *The pearl and diamond set gold decorations on the fan’s sticks would appear to indicate that the fan was manufactured by the firm of Giuliano in the late 1890s. Although the piece does not appear to bare any signature or hallmarks.
