An Important Louis XVI Style Cut-Glass and Gilt-Bronze Mounted Chandelier With Wedgwood Style Porcelain Plaques.
This fine chandelier has a gilt-bronze corona with a finely cast acanthus and anthemion cresting above an upper section hung with trails of faceted crystal drops and Wedgwood style porcelain plaques.
The plaques are contained in finely cast gilt-bronze frames above a large central architectural band surmounted by gilt-bronze cherub figures supporting palm trees with crystal fronds.
Below, the chandelier has four concentric bands from which are suspended crystal drops terminating in a central faceted ball.
