A large bronze flower vase of usubata type supported on a foliate base, the stand in the shape of a writhing dragon holding a tama (sacred jewel) in the form of a flawless rock crystal ball*, supporting a secondary base decorated with descending lappets and ascending lotus petals; the sixteen lobed body of the vase with a dragon and waves in high relief, and the eye outlined in gilt; the wide foliate rim finished with a pendant vertical band of openwork keyfret.
