A vibrant and finely woven early 20th century antique Heriz runner.  The condition is fantastic with a fine high wool pile all over this colourful hall runner.  Gorgeous pale blues, greens and yellow dyes on a softer red background.  The design consists of stylised geometric motifs of stars and latch-hook motifs, the gentle floral border design is a great compliment to the overall pattern. We supply excellent rug underlay that would add durability and stop this antique runner from moving on a wooden, tiled or carpeted floor.

Please request a home visit to see this stunning antique Heriz runner at home, we love to travel all over the UK showing our rugs, carpets and runners in customers homes.

Heriz and Karaja are not far from the Azerbaijan Border so they draw influences from many Caucasian rugs and runners. They are easily recognisable with repeating medallions similar to those in caucasian rugs. The central motif is often the latch-hooked design motif or an eight-pointed star.  The village weavings of Karaja such as this runner often use a simpler repeating medallion design with a great array of colour.
