An antique Heriz carpet woven around 1910-1920 with a brilliant geometric design of stylised leaves and flowers.  The colours are divine and varied, on a soft reddish pink background with pale blue highlights we can even see hints of purple tones in the flowers.  A deep indigo blue border with great abrash, which is the name for dye change.   The condition is excellent in its entirety with a high wool pile on this antique carpet from the North-West of Persia, the ends/fringes are secure and sides too.  A very decorative and easy to place carpet, ideal for many rooms such as a study, dining room, living room or entrance hall.  Heriz rugs are incredibly tough as well as attractive persian rugs.

Heriz carpets have always been regarded as beautiful, tough objects of decoration, made in the north-west of Persia these handwoven works of art always have variations from one piece to another. Some draw influences from further north into the Caucasus and vivid colours like this particular carpet.  A decorative yet practical carpet which has been used for over 100 years and stood the test of time.

We offer the service of viewing any of our carpets & rugs in-situ in London, Surrey, Hampshire & the UK by appointment. Please use our request home visit service to view this antique Heriz carpet in your own home.
