A beautiful fine antique Ahar Heriz carpet woven at the turn of the century with gorgeous colours and in amazing full pile. Ahar Heriz are woven in the town of the name Ahar close to Heriz and are finer, often more intricate and curvilinear in design. The ivory corner spandrels really lift the palette and it has a great variety of greens, reds, and blues. The condition is very good all over with a soft wool pile. We have professionally washed this carpet and it is a fabulous antique carpet from ideal for a many rooms as it would add a lot of warmth and character.
Heriz carpets have always been regarded as beautiful, tough objects of decoration, made in the north-west of Persia these handwoven works of art always have variations from one piece to another. Some draw influences from further north into the Caucasus. A decorative, yet practical carpet which furnishes a room very easily.
