Early Heriz carpets from north west Persia are in a class of their own. Prized for their geometric designs, fine durable construction and creative vegetable-dyed colours, they make ideal long lasting rugs. They have always stood out for their aesthetically appealing designs.

This handsome Heriz carpet has a rare overall pattern instead of the classical central medallion motif.  The terracotta background complements the variety of harmonious colour combinations of the field including olive green, sky blue, ivory and green, framed by a wide blue border. Its fine weave results in the impeccable clarity of the drawing with all its colours vegetable dyed which have improved nicely with age.

A decorative example to  blend in a wide variety of settings.
