Herbert Johnson Harvey was a landscape and portrait painter, print maker and metal worker. He was born in Hammersmith, London but his family moved to Birmingham when he was about 4 years old. His father, John Rabone Harvey, was also an artist a member of the Royal Society of Birmingham artists. He moved to London in 1911 and in the late 1920s spent some time in Italy. His work was exhibited at the Royal Academy and elsewhere in the UK.
