The Sienna marble tazza has a striking vein of colour flowing the through the entire ornament.  The shallow dish is carved with a thumbnail moulded edge and stands on a turned  column supported on socle plinth base. 

'Broccatello di Siena' (Convent Siena) or Siena marble is quarried at Monte Arrenti near Sovicille, Province of Siena, Italy.
