Grand Scale Carved Convex Mirror.
A George IV 19th century late Regency period 36inch carved convex mirror.
The outer carved border is decorated with stiff leaf carving with a black acanthus leaf moulding surmounted onto the ebony reeded slip.
The grand convex mirror plate is the original mercury plate.
The gilding is mostly from the early 19th century.
The scale of the mirror is sensational and convex mirrors are significantly rarer once the frame and the mirror plate reaches over 30 inches in diameter.
