A mid 19th Century English chronometer in a gold open face case. Gilt half plate keywind movement with fusee and chain. Harrison’s maintaining power. Engraved cock with diamond endstone. Heavy compensation balance with blue steel helical hairspring. Spring detent Earnshaw type chronometer escapement, escape pivots with endstones.
Signed white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Plain 18 carat open face case, faded shield and garter engraved on the back cover. Wound and set through the gold cuvette, maker’s mark "" number corresponding to that on the movement. In a morocco covered gilt decorated presentation case lined with dark blue velvet.
