A late 18th Century French verge in a gold and enamel consular case. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator.
Winding through the white enamel dial, Roman and Arabic numerals, decorative gilt hands. Gold consular case, the engraved bezels decorated with translucent dark blue champleve enamel. The back of translucent dark blue enamel over an engine turned ground decorated with gilt stars and bordered by a row of small enamel faux pearls.
