A mid 18th Century English verge in gilt metal repousse cases and chatelaine. Full plate fire gilt fusee movement with turned pillars. Pierced and engraved cock, pierced and engraved foot and plate for the silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring.
White enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, decorative pierced gold hands. Plain gilt metal inner case, number corresponding to that on the movement. Chased and engraved gilt outer case depicting the Continence of Scipio within a rococo border.
Cast gilt chatelaine, gilt clip with hinged lower section and two further cartouches linked by chains depicting classical scenes. Attached by short pierced and engraved chains are a key and a stone set seal, clips with threaded collars.
