Georgian walnut blanket chest.
A George I walnut veneered blanket chest; the top quarter veneered in walnut, featherbanded and crossbanded opens to reveal the original strap work hinges; the front veneered and sides veneered with panels of book matched figured walnut which are featherbanded and crossbanded; the front retains its original engraved brass escutcheons and the ends have wonderfully chunky carrying handles. Raised on a stand which is crossgrain veneered in walnut and stands on cabriole legs which terminate in pointy pad feet. Retaining a superb slightly faded colour.
