Georgian Satinwood Precision Barometer.
A rare late 18th century George III period satinwood wheel barometer. The 9 inch circular silvered and engraved main scale has elaborate compass pont central engraving.
The scales are of particularly exact calibration and enclosed within a concave brass bezel. The separate inset thermometer, reading Reamur and Farenheit temperatures is of similar scientific calibration, the temperature reads with the aid of an adjustable frame with central sight line.
The case of the barometer is of fine quality and is veneered with satinwood and cross-banded with kingwood
