Georgian Satinwood Occasional Lamp Table.

A Very Fine Quality Late 18th Century, George III Period, Satinwood Occasional Lamp Table, Having Superbly Figured And Crossbanded Octagonal Top, Over One Frieze Drawer And Slide, Raised On Elegant Square Tapering Legs, United By Cross Stretcher.

A very fine quality table, constructed from some of the best satinwood veneer which would have been available at the time. The figuring and colour is absolutely superb. It also boasts mahogany drawer linings and secondary timbers, a sure sign that it has been produced in one of the very best workshops of the late 18th century.

It is a great size, perfect for so many different uses around the home, far too many for us to suggest here. Helpfully it has the drawer and a slide below that drawer which really adds to the overall functionality and also allows you to place a lamp, or ornament, or similar on top of it whilst still retaining easy access to the storage space.

It also stands on incredibly elegant and fine square tapering legs, which are united and strengthened by a cross stretcher. The exaggerated kick to the tapered legs adds real elegance and at the same time presence to the way this table stands.

As with all items which we offer for sale this occasional table has been inspected by our highly skilled, trained antique furniture restorers in our workshops and also received a traditional, natural wax polish before being offered for sale.
