Georgian mahogany wine or hunt table of horseshoe design, the four turned and reeded, tapering legs with brass collars that screw into the frieze rail. The top, with reeded edge, has hinged, extending flaps with loper supports. To the centre, a removable leaf allows for the table to be used as a side or console table against a wall, or with the leaf removed and the flaps extended, to be put in front of the fireplace for sitting around for social and comfortable drinking.
By Gillow of Lancaster, English circa 1795-1810.
