A good quality Georgian mahogany oval Butlers Tray of panelled form having original brass hinges to folding sides raised on later square tapered leg stand.

Always a great solution to the age old problem of there being no such thing a coffee table, or at least what we regard as a coffee table in modern times, during the 18th and 19th centuries because they simply didn't make coffee tables of that height.

As is normal with the majority that you will see, this butlers tray has been removed from it's original folding waist height stand and placed onto a stand of lower height to make it into an extremely useful coffee table.

It is a nice feature that the stand has been constructed using recycled 18th, or 19th, century timber as opposed to brand new wood. The stand itself is probably between 50 and 100 years old.

Circa 1800.

Height - 18.5in.
Width - 34in.
Depth - 26in.
