Georgian 18th Century Mahogany English Bowfront Serving Table Sideboard

A good quality late 18th century mahogany bowfronted Serving Table.

Having well figured and cross banded top above three frieze drawers, retaining original brass handles, raised on square tapered legs.

During the 18th century it was common to have both a sideboard and a serving table in the dining room.

Although very often similar in design, in theory one was very much for serving from and the other storage.

Often the serving table would be slightly higher than a normal side table to make it easy to serve from.

This example is quite unusual as it has drawers to the frieze which is relatively uncommon. It is also a sweet size whilst still being big enough to serve a purpose and be functional.

It is excellent quality and has clearly been well looked after and loved retaining a good colour and being constructed from nice timber.

It also retains its original brass handles which is another nice feature and whilst originally made for a dining area it would suit a variety of different purposes and spaces in both a modern home and older style of home.
