A very good quality late 18th century Mahogany Dressing Table Mirror.

Having shield shaped plate above well figured bowfront base, with three frieze drawers and elegant strung decoration.

Dressing table mirrors, often referred to as "toilet mirrors" were made from the beginning of the 18th century onwards.

Designed to sit atop a dressing table, or chest of drawers, in the bedroom or dressing room they are found in a huge variety of woods, shapes, sizes and qualities.

This example is a relatively standard design for the late 18th century, and is of good quality construction with some attractive strung decoration.

Although originally designed to sit on top of a dressing table it is of course most versatile and would suit a whole variety of locations around the home.

The mirror plate itself is replaced, but not brand new, meaning there are a few old marks, but it is very much functional for its original purpose as a dressing table mirror.

Circa 1790.

Height - 23in.
Width - 17in.
Depth - 8.5in.
