Antique Silver George III Basket 1780 Burrage Davenport of London.
A George III silver swing – handled basket of oval form with bright–engraved and slat –pierced border interrupted by four figural cartouches, beaded rim, reeded handle, raised on a slat –pierced oval foot with beaded rim. The centre is engraved with a lovely original bird crest. The figurative engraving in four cartouches around the basket is a most unusual neo-classical feature. The engraving is crisp and the basket is in excellent condition. A really fine large eighteenth century cake / bread basket
