An excellent quality neo-classical period oil and vinegar cruet made in London in 1774 by William Lancester. The heavy gauge cruet stand is finely hand pierced and stands on four cast decorative ball and claw feet. It has a scrolled handle interspersed with shell decoration and the period cut glass bottles are surmounted by the original wrythen finialed silver tops engraved with the initials of the original owner. Both the bottle tops and the silver collared necks to the bottles are struck with the lion passant standard mark and the bottles and the cruet stand are in good condition.
