George III Period Mahogany Bell Top Verge Bracket Clock.
A fine 18th century flame mahogany bracket clock by William Webster, London. The eight day verge movement with a finely engraved and named back plate. The case with brass details and carrying handle is of superb colour veneers and good patina.
William Webster was the son and apprentice to his father, also William, both top London makers and Masters of the Clockmakers Company. His father was apprentice to Thomas Thompion. Circa 1780.
