A George III Period Carrara Marble And Sienna Marble Chimney Piece.
This delicately carved a beautifully detailed fireplace has a breakfront shelf with inverted moulded edge. The frieze is inset with Siena marble flutes. The central projecting tablet is relief carved with a Neoclassical urn with rams-mask handles hung with ribbon-tied husk chains above acanthus scrolls terminating in rosettes. The flanking end tablets carved with corresponding husk swagged urns above columnar jambs inlaid with Siena marble flutes and surmounted by iconic capitals.
