About the object
A particularly fine early George III mahogany window seat, the out scrolling arms above detailed carved cluster column legs with pierced angle brackets.
The form of this design is strongly influenced by the 'Chinese taste' which was prevalent at this time and popularised by the works of Thomas Chippendale and William Chambers.
