George III Mahogany Pembroke table. Of exceptional colour and patina, this rare drop-leaf table is closely similar to a design published in Thomas Chippendale’s “The Gentleman and Cabinet Maker’s Director” of 1754, plate number 33. The rectangular top with shaped leaves on chamfered legs connected by a pierced cross-stretcher and fitted with a drawer and a corresponding dummy; with original axe-drop handles. Circa 1760.
