George III Chippendale Mirror.

The superb 18th century carved giltwood and gesso mirror has fine detailing throughout. The intricately carved crest of foliate form is supported by a pair of 'C' scrolls with inset carved leaves. The mirror plate is surrounded by scrolling leaves and flowering vines to each side with a further foliate carved crest to the bottom of the mirror.

Condition report

The mirror is in excellent condition. The gilt gesso and gilding is largely all original and the plate is an 18th century replacement.
