A George III Antique Silver Cake Basket, swing-handled, of oval form, with a reeded handle, the border is pierced with swags, stars and floral scrolls and the foot is oval with a reeded border. This beautiful cake basket by the celebrated workshop of the lady silversmith Hester Bateman was made in the year Australia was founded.
A crest of demi-lion rampant crest is engraved in the centre of the basket.
