George II Walnut and Parcel Gilt Mirror.

Circa 1745.

Good colour and old mellow gilding with some re-touching.

The rectangular plate with re-entrant upper corners and foliate slip in an ogee moulded and carved walnut scrolling surround, flanked on either side with giltwood leafing foliage interspersed with berries and flowerheads. The cornice centred by a finely carved giltwood basket of flowers with parcel gilt scrolls to either side. The plain walnut base carved with a series of mirrored scrolls.
