Maker: James Morison. London 1751.
CREST: Whorwood of Holton Park, Oxfordshire.
James Morison was a specialist maker of salvers but his mark appears on a range of other silver.
Crest probably for Thomas Whorwood (1718-1771). Baptised at Holton. Graduated at Wadham College, Oxford 1735. Sheriff of Oxfordshire 1745-6.
Married Penelope Schulz of Shotover in 1746. Died childless 1771 at Malvern Wells. Buried at Holton 8th September 1771.
This is a lovely pair of ladles and will give much enjoyment to future generations for years to come.
