George II period walnut bureau, of good rich colour; the desk fitted with eight small drawers, six pigeon-holes with shaped valances (two concealing 'secret' drawers) and a central cupboard flanked by fluted pilaster-drawers, enclosed by a flap with double chevron and cross banded borders; the lower part with four softwood-lined drawers original pierced-plate handles and escutcheons; on ogee bracket feet.
