George I Walnut Bachelor's Chest.
Exceptional small 18th century walnut and featherbanded bachelor's chest.
The quarter veneered top is crossbanded with feather banding and opens to reveal a lined surface. The hinged top rests on the lopers and sits above four oak-lined graduated drawers. The walnut drawers are featherbanded and cockbeaded with steel locks and the original gilt brass handles.
The bachelor's chest is raised on the original walnut veneered bracket feet below a thumbnail moulded edge. The walnut sides are crossbanded and are straight grained.
The bachelor's chest is of a small rare size and has been restored with restorations.
