Dating from no later than 1751, this is the earliest known spring clock fitted with Graham’s deadbeat escapement. The original purchaser of a clock that may well have been intended for a bedroom or other private room, must have had a sound and most up-to-date knowledge of horology – a unique and obviously special-order decorative timepiece from England’s premier clockmaker, and one that was also technically advanced.

18 cm height
