An early 19th Century English duplex in a decorative three colour gold open face case set with rubies.  Gilt three quarter plate keywind movement with fusee and chain. Harrison’s maintaining power. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, diamond endstone. Plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Large brass steel escape wheel. Fine decorative gold dial with engine turned centre.  Matted ground, applied gold decoration to indicate the minute divisions, applied polished gold Roman numerals, gilt hands.  Decorative 18 carat gold open face case.  The bezels, pendant and bow with applied two colour gold decoration and set with rubies.  The centre of the back also set with rubies and applied two colour gold foliate decoration surrounded by a border of engine turning.  Engine turned middle, wound through the signed and numbered gold cuvette, maker’s mark “LC”
