Art Nouveau gilt bronze figure of a dancing maiden by Charlotte Monginot. With a raised leg and arms and with a tambourine attached to her dress. Vibrant and full of movement. Excellent cast and superb detail some of which is highlighted subtly with enamel. Signed in the bronze Monginot. The figure stands on a polished, shaped marble base on a small brass plinth. French circa 1910.

Charlotte Monginot (French, 1872 ~ 1962) Born in Paris, Monginot Charlotte was the daughter of the renowned French painter and engraver Charles Monginot (1825-1900), known for his portraits. She was a student of Denys Puech (1854-1942).  Charlotte Monginot exhibited at the Salon de Paris from 1895 where she was noticed by gaining an honourable mention. She made works in plaster or marble and participated in numerous exhibitions in Paris whilst  also painting. Many works of Charlotte Monginot were cast in bronze or bronze and ivory. She resigned from the French Society of Artists in 1948.
