Frederick William Jackson was born at Middleton, near Manchester, his father a photographer and art dealer. Jackson initially studied at Oldham School of Art under William Stott, and then at Manchester School of Art, and the Académie Julian, Paris.
"In Pastures" is a charming little oil painting on canvas laid on board measuring 8"x 9" and is framed in on old gilt swept frame. It measures 11"x 12" overall.
