Condition report

A most unusual work of folk art sculpture, carved in the form of a long legged brown and white painted dog and fashioned as a pull-toy. The head and body of the dog are carved from a single piece of timber with the four legs joined/socketed to it, the dog has well defined facial features, with alert upright ears above raised eye sockets and a pointed snout. The long slender legs are joined to a grey/green painted platform base with integral red painted wheels. The piece retains much original paint and is in genuine "as found" country house condition. There are multiple incidental scars and bruises commensurate with its age and function and small areas of damage and losses, particularly to the front edges of the platform base. But overall, this rare homemade folk art sculpture in in entirely genuine original condition and crawling with integrity. A rare and engaging example.
