A Fine Transitional Style Gilt-Bronze Mounted Mahogany Chiffonier Tambour.

This fine chiffonier is of drum shape with a Brèche d’Alep marble top with a three-quarter gallery above three drawers. The cabinet is richly ornamented in gilt-bronze with fine figural espagnolettes and elaborate escutcheons featuring scrolling foliate motifs and cherubs. The shaped apron is centred to the front and each side with finely cast and modelled gilt-bronze roundels depicting classical maidens. The chiffonier is raised on cabriole legs terminating in paw feet.
