A Very Fine Regency Period Writing Table,
Firmly attributed to Morel & Hughes
of Great Marlborough Street, London
Constructed in rosewood, with extensive parcel gilt highlights, adorned with boxwood line inlays; of end support form, the bellied sledge plinths, having inset castors under scrolled feet support tapering turned spandrel blocked columns carved with anthemion leaves, carry the egg and dart dressed radiused corner rectangular top, which houses two mahogany drawers, with internal quadrant mouldings; the platform having a tooled morocco leather top, and a three quarter bronze gallery.
