This exceptionally modeled pottery tea canister depicts a half profile of King George III in strong relief. The image was inspired by the artist William Hackwood.
The large impressive canister is painted in blue with satyr masks and a profusion of flower heads and leaves—a fine quality piece with significant attention to detail.

Current Condition: Exceptional unrestored condition with only minor signs of wear more than commensurate with use.
Provenance: With Alistair Sampson the London dealer in March 1995.
