From our collection of antique Japanese Ceramics, this charming pair of Satsuma vases with finely painted, wrap-around decoration depicting a bustling market scene. Street vendors with baskets of food and crafts ply their goods and entertainers display their skills while brightly dressed customers mill around.
The foot and necks of the vases with various-shaped panels of waves, mille-fleur decoration, geometric patterns and Kimono-material style design.
The underside displaying the signature of celebrated Satsuma artist, Ryozan alongside the mark of the Yasuda Company.
