A fine pair of Japanese Bronze and multi-metal patinated vases with fruiting vines (Circa 1880).
From our collection of Japanese, Meiji-era (1868-1912) metalwork, this fine pair of Bronze vases with multi-metal decoration of expressive naturalistic fruiting vines, highlighted with clever use of Gold, Shakudo and Copper.
The distinctive and difficult to achieve bright red is a patination seen on the works of celebrated artist Suzuki Chokichi and those that studied under his supervision, so it is possible there is an association there.
Offered in fine condition. Please feel free to contact us for additional images, video or to arrange a viewing in person.
