A Fine Napoléon III Gilt-Bronze Three Piece Clock Garniture.
Comprising a mantel clock and a pair of seven-light figural candelabra. Designed as a celebration of music and lyric poetry with Grecian classical nymphs. The mantle clock modelled with two seated classically robed nymphs with musical attributes and an open book above a flower entwined clock face. The enamel dial with Roman numerals and five-minute chapters and signed 'Masse & Cie – P. Jacob n 24'. The twin-barrel movement with hour and half hour strike on bell. The candelabra en suite with nymphs supporting naturalistically modelled branches and leaf-cast nozzles atop spreading socles with musical attributes.
