Fine early 19th century mahogany bow-fronted stick barometer by J. Smith*, Royal Exchange, London.
The richly coloured casework with a glazed silvered register, a mercury thermometer and an urn-shaped cistern-cover, surmounted by a swan's-neck pediment.
*James Smith is known to have been working at North Gate, Royal Exchange from 1815 to 1828.
