Franz Seraph Hanfstaengl was a German artist, lithographer, and Bavarian court photographer who established a lithography firm in Munich in 1833. He later added a printing shop and a photography studio producing reproductions of many paintings from collections in Dresden and Munich. In 1868 his son, Edgar, took over the Franz Hanfstaengl Art Publishing House and concentrated on art reproductions.
