An extremely fine kingwood and parquetry marble topped shaped Vitrine display cabinet circa 1880.
French Circa 1880.
The marble top above a frieze being banded with gilt ormolu of scrolling rosettes, foliage with ribbons, rose drapes to each corner and a central embossed plaque. The glazed door with a parquetry lower panel opens to reveal a mirrored back having two glass shelves enclosed by concave glazed sides, with matching lower shaped parquetry panels banded by ormolu.
Raised on fine cabriole legs with female mounts to the knee this lovely quality cabinet is in exquisite condition having been restored using traditional methods to bring out its beautiful colour and gilt ormolu.
A well proportioned and extremely fine quality Vitrine which would be the talking piece of any room.
