A fine figured walnut pedestal desk with J.Safran's patent drawer fastening mechanism. This is an ingenious arrangement which means that when the centre drawer is closed all the other drawers can't be opened so don't need individual locks. Good quality with mahogany drawer linings and lignum vitae caster wheels. The original leather has now been replaced with a dark green hide.
