THIS BEATIFULLY CARVED SCULPTURE IS UNUSUALLY SCULPTURED IN YEW WOOD. HE STANDS ERECT HOLDING A BELL AND BOOK IN HIS RIGHT HAND, IN HIS LEFT HE HOLDS A STICK AND ROSARY. TO HIS LEFT LEG STANDS A PIG.

THIS RARE ENGLISH REFORMATION SCULPTURE IS ILLUSTRATED IN THE ANTIQUES YEAR BOOK 1956-1957 AND WAS PREVIOUSLY IN THE PRIVATE SPENCER COLLECTIONS.
