An extremely rare pair of Sugar Tongs modelled as a pair of Fire Irons. Made in London in 1853 by Francis Higgins.
The Tongs are beautifully modelled as a pair of early fire irons engraved with early Eighteenth century designs and displaying shell grips.
The top of the arch displays a rare Boy and Barrel finial.
A very rare design made by the fine quality flatware maker, Francis Higgins.
