Extremely rare pair of Chinese famille verte bottle vases, Kangxi (1662-1722), the globular bodies decorated with rockwork, flowers and butterflies, the slender necks with cherry blossoms between bands of peony flowerheads on a green speckled ground all in extremely bright enamels the bases with the letter G in underglaze blue ; height 8 7/8 in. (22.4 cm). The underglaze blue 'G' marks indicate that these vases were made to order by a Dutch merchant in the 17th century, Chinese porcelain with such marks are extremely rare.
